Top 10 After Effects Courses and Classes

Motion graphics and visual effects are becoming increasingly valuable and important in any video created. Adobe After Effects is one of the most used tools for those. It is used by professionals across the world for every type of production from business & marketing videos, music videos to documentaries.

However, these expansive capabilities may take years to learn properly by yourself. Fortunately, you have a chance to produce better results in less time by learning it from the professionals. Here I chose 10 different courses for those who may not know where to start.

If you are an intermediate rather than a beginner you can directly check out the last three courses!

1. Adobe After Effects: Complete Course from Novice to Expert πŸ”—

This one is an amazing course for learning and mastering motion graphics and visual effects in After Effects and it is totally suitable for complete beginners.

The instructors updated and added new sections to the course quite recently -August 2021- which means the course includes recent techniques as well! However, keep in mind that this course is an interactive course and you will need to put serious work on suggested exercises.

2. After Effects CC Masterclass: Complete After Effects Course πŸ”—

This is one of the easiest-to-follow courses for complete beginners. Course starts with teaching the basics of the After Effects without assuming prior experience.

The most advantageous part of this course is, by the end of the course you will have finished dozens of real world projects and this will help you build your confidence. After finishing the course you will be far away from your beginner state.

3. Adobe After Effects CC – Motion Graphics Design & VFX πŸ”—

This course focuses mainly on motion graphics and it is completely beginner-friendly. Also, this course is a relatively short one with approximately 5 hours long on-demand videos.

However, as a part of this course you will get downloadable exercise files so you can work along with the trainer which means the total course might take a little bit longer than expected depending on your process.

4. After Effects – Motion Graphics & Data Visualization πŸ”—

If you are interested in animating infographics and data visualization this course is the perfect one for you. You can start from bringing potentially boring data to life and move forward all the way through to exporting for Youtube, Powerpoint and all sorts of social media including animated GIFS.

You don’t need to worry, this one is for complete beginners as well and you will be guided through your whole process, step by step.

5. After Effects for Beginners | Free Mega Course πŸ”—

This one is a 4.5 hours long Youtube tutorial – for free! It starts with the basics like interface, before moving on to tools, workflow, keyframing, shapes and so much more and you will finish with more advanced topics like spatial interpolation.

Just one small suggestion; rather than trying to finish it at one go, take your time and try to process all that new information slowly but permanently so you don’t feel overwhelmed.

6. After Effects CC: The Complete Motion Graphics Masterclass πŸ”—

This course is designed for teaching solely motion graphics in After Effects. If you are only interested in motion graphics and you don’t want to learn all of Adobe After Effects while learning little to nothing of useful motion graphics techniques, this course is the perfect fit for you rather than complete After Effects courses.

As learning motion graphics using Adobe After Effects is totally different from learning After Effects as a whole, you will immediately dive in and start creating animations in this course. However, don’t feel overwhelmed, the course is designed for beginners!

7. Master After Effects πŸ”—

This course is a relatively longer one with approximately 16 hours of video content. However, once you finish it you will know all the essentials of the software even if you are a complete beginner now. Also, you can earn a certificate of completion once you finish it!

8. After Effects Weekly πŸ”—

This one is an on-going course, which you will not have a chance to complete fully as there will be weekly series demonstrating tips, tricks and techniques to help you to stay on track.

As new features are being added to After Effects each quarter it is getting hard to keep up with everyone. So, even if you are a complete beginner or a total master, this is one of the courses you should follow along.

9. After Effects CC πŸ”—

This course has its own subcategories; beginner, intermediate and advanced. Hence, even if you are not a beginner, you have things to learn from this course. Also, it is a good journey for complete beginners as you are guided step by step to become a professional.

10. Improve your After Effects Skills πŸ”—

Distinctly from the other nine courses that I suggested, this one is a course for intermediates rather than for complete beginners as it requires some prior knowledge. Still, it is a great place for taking your skills beyond the basics once you learn the basics. Also, you can enjoy your completion certificate once you finish the course!

So, if you are not a complete beginner go and check it out and if you are a beginner I suggest you save this course for later, once you finish any course from the suggestions above, you will be ready for this one as well.

I know you may feel overwhelmed and lost in all those features in After Effects, especially if you are a beginner. I know it because I felt it but I really hope this article helps you a little!
