Imerge Pro (v.2021 and newer)

Imerge Pro is a powerful photo editing tool designed to make use of GPU acceleration for faster performance, especially with complex operations like applying effects and filters in real-time. By utilizing GPU power, Imerge Pro can drastically reduce lag, offering a more responsive editing experience.

How to Enable GPU Acceleration in Imerge Pro

  1. Launch Imerge Pro
Open the software from its default location:
    C:\Program Files\FXHOME\Imerge Pro\Imerge Pro.exe

  2. Activate GPU Acceleration

    • Go to the Settings menu at the top right of the user interface.

    • Select the General tab.

    • Under GPU, click the Clear icon to refresh GPU settings, then select your NVIDIA GPU from the dropdown menu.

    • Click Save to apply the changes.

This will enable Imerge Pro to use the GPU for accelerated brush performance and other demanding tasks.

Top Tips to Speed Up Imerge Pro

  1. Update GPU Drivers
Keeping your NVIDIA or AMD drivers up to date is critical for ensuring Imerge Pro utilizes your GPU efficiently. Updated drivers often provide optimizations that improve performance for creative applications like Imerge.

  2. Optimize Memory Usage
If you notice a slowdown while working with large projects, adjusting the memory usage can help. Free up system resources by closing background applications and dedicating more RAM to Imerge Pro.

  3. Disable Unused Effects
If certain effects or layers aren’t being used, disable or hide them temporarily. This will reduce the load on your GPU, allowing Imerge Pro to run more smoothly.

  4. Use an SSD for Project Files
Storing large project files on an SSD can significantly reduce load times and improve responsiveness when working with high-resolution images.

Imerge Pro System Requirements

Minimum Requirements:
  • Operating System:

    • Windows: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit) or Windows 11 (64-bit).

    • macOS: macOS 10.15 Catalina, macOS 11.0 Big Sur, or macOS 12.0 Monterey.

  • Processor: 6th Generation Intel® Core™ i5 (2015), AMD Ryzen 5 (2017), or Apple Silicon (2020).

  • RAM: 8 GB.

  • Graphics Card:

    • VRAM: 2 GB for projects up to 24 MP; 4 GB or more for projects over 24 MP.

    • Windows: Intel HD Graphics 620 (2016), NVIDIA GeForce GTX 10 Series (2016), or AMD Radeon RX 400 Series (2016).

    • macOS: Dedicated cards from 2016 onwards or Apple Silicon (2020).

    • Support: OpenGL 4.1 and OpenCL 1.2.

  • Internet Connection: Required for activation and accessing online functionality.

Recommended Specifications:
  • RAM: 16 GB or more, especially for handling complex projects and high-resolution images.

  • Graphics Card: 4 GB or more of VRAM for enhanced performance with larger projects.

Meeting these specifications will help you get the most out of Imerge Pro, ensuring efficient workflows and high-quality outputs. Keep in mind that more complex projects, especially those involving high-resolution images or intricate compositions, will benefit from higher-end hardware configurations.
