HOW TO USE GPU
DxO Nik Collection - Color Efex Pro (v.4 and newer)
Color Efex Pro is part of the DxO Nik Collection and is widely used for enhancing images with a variety of filters and effects. By enabling GPU acceleration, you can boost the processing speed when applying these effects, especially for high-resolution images.
How to Enable GPU Acceleration in Color Efex Pro
Launch Color Efex Pro
Open the application from the default path:C:\Program Files\DxO\Nik Collection\Color Efex Pro 4.exe
Enable GPU Acceleration
Go to Settings.
Expand the GPU tab.
Select Use GPU for image processing.
Ensure your NVIDIA GPU is selected in the configuration dropdown for maximum performance.
This setup allows Color Efex Pro to offload processing tasks to the GPU, significantly speeding up rendering times for filters and effects.
Top Tips to Speed Up Color Efex Pro
Update GPU Drivers
Keep your NVIDIA or AMD drivers up to date to ensure optimal performance and compatibility with DxO software.Use Efficient Filters
Some filters, like Pro Contrast or Detail Extractor, are more resource-intensive than others. Use these filters selectively to avoid slowing down the workflow, especially on lower-end systems.Optimize Image Sizes
When processing high-resolution images, consider downscaling the image temporarily or working on a smaller preview to speed up filter application, then apply the effect to the full-size image for final export.Utilize SSD Storage
Storing your image files and working projects on an SSD will reduce load times and improve overall performance during editing.
