HOW TO USE GPU
XSplit Broadcaster (v.3.9-)
XSplit Broadcaster is widely used by content creators for live streaming and video recording. It supports GPU-accelerated encoding, which can significantly improve streaming performance by reducing CPU load. By enabling GPU-based video processing, you can achieve smoother streams, higher quality output, and less strain on your system, especially when streaming at higher resolutions like 1080p or 4K.
How to Enable GPU-Accelerated Encoding in XSplit Broadcaster
Launch XSplit Broadcaster
Navigate to the installation directory:C:\Program Files (x86)\SplitmediaLabs\XSplit Broadcaster\x64\XSplit.Core.exe
Access Settings
From the global navigation bar, click Tools.
Select Settings from the dropdown menu.
Enable GPU Video Processing
In the Advanced tab of the Settings window, find Video processing mode.
Choose Prefer GPU for video processing to prioritize the GPU over the CPU for encoding tasks.
Apply Changes
Click OK to save the settings.
This ensures that XSplit will utilize your NVIDIA GPU for encoding, reducing the workload on your CPU and improving stream quality.
Top Tips to Speed Up XSplit Broadcaster
Use NVIDIA NVENC Encoder
NVIDIA’s NVENC encoder is optimized for live streaming. To activate it, go to Broadcast > Video Encoding and select NVENC H.264. This offloads the encoding task from the CPU to the GPU, freeing up system resources.
Adjust Bitrate and Resolution
Set your bitrate based on your internet connection speed. Use around 70-75% of your available upload speed to avoid frame drops or stream lag.
Monitor GPU Performance
Keep an eye on your GPU’s usage during streaming. If usage exceeds 95%, consider lowering the game’s FPS or resolution to ensure smooth streaming.
Update GPU Drivers
Regularly update your NVIDIA drivers to benefit from the latest performance optimizations.
Reduce GPU Usage by Adjusting Game Settings
Limiting in-game FPS or reducing graphics quality can free up more GPU resources for encoding tasks.
