This demo adapts Hillside, a sample architecture project by Epic, Safdie Architects, and Neoscape, into a browser-streamed exploration using Vagon Streams. Built with Unreal Engine’s latest rendering technologies, the environment delivers cinematic realism — from dramatic canyon vistas to detailed interior spaces — without requiring a local GPU or install.


As users move through the environment, lighting reacts naturally, shadows shift dynamically, and geometry detail remains crisp. Even transitions between daylight and dusk or different decks are seamless, preserving the immersive quality of a native build.

The Challenge

The Hillside project demonstrates Unreal Engine’s advanced features like Nanite, Lumen, path tracing, and virtual shadow maps, pushing the limits of photorealistic visualization. Rendering that level of detail locally demands very powerful hardware. For many collaborators or clients, simply launching the build is prohibitive.


Moreover, distributing such a project traditionally involved huge packaged builds, long downloads, or video exports — all of which strip away interactivity or degrade quality. Clients end up seeing only curated views or reduced fidelity, not the full spatial experience.
